Federal Way community organizations have come together in an effort to develop a Day Center for the homeless and those living below the poverty line.

We have provided:

Showers

Laundry facilities

PO Boxes

Phone access

Computer and email access

Kitchen and daily food warming

Counseling

Case Management

The Center opened  December 5, 2016.

As of year end 2016 the project has garnered $102,815.50 from the community.   The goal for 2017 is $50,000 additional.

"Right now, Federal Way only has one place the

homeless can go to one day a week to shower.

The Day Shelter would mean we could shower

every day."

Current Needs

6/13/2017... Per Whonakee and Dorothy regarding needs. Here is what is high priority:

  • Laundry Detergent - either liquid or pods (Pods are easier to use) We only have 3 pods for tomorrow!

  • Bleach - Liquid- this is used for towels at the end of the day and bleach water to clean

  • Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner

  • Socks-mens and womens

  • Women's underwear-sizes 5,6,7 and 8

  • Men's underwear-all sizes (we currently do not have any men's underwear)

  • Hygiene products-shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste-(small), toothbrush, bar soap, brushes, combs, shavers (No lotion needed)

  • Let your friends and family who are traveling to save the hotel sizes for the Day Center!

There is also a surplus of milk that needs to be used before it expires. A donation of dry cereal and instant pudding would help use that up.
